Interessenkonflikte um das Medikament - Wo steht das Medikament?June 2004 | | | The interdisciplinary public symposium “Ethics of Responsibility: Conflicts of Interest around Drugs – What is the Position of the Patient?” was held on 25 October 2003 on the occasion of the anniversary “50 Years of Magdeburg as a Student Town – 10 Years of Otto-von-Guericke-University”. Medical ethics has become fashionable recently and said to be the ethics of responsibility towards ill and healthy people alike. Research, teaching and treatment are subject to great changes; physicians and patients are dominated by market forces and market interests. The responsibility towards patients who do not have any lobby of their own must not be neglected and not become influenced by industry. Authors discuss these complex issues.
